Indeed the bravest Philippine leader, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, set foot for the third time in Marawi last 24 August 2017.
But this time, he went around the city and checked on the real scenario at Ground Zero. Accompanied by the Presidential Security Group (PSG), President Duterte entered the war-torn Marawi a day after it marked the third month of AFP versus Maute group clash in the area.
According to BGEN RESTITUTO PADILLA AFP, Spokesperson, he personally went in the battlefield and was able to fire twice towards the nestling area of terrorists using a sniper rifle.
“The President wanted to be at the front line so he went to the main battle area,” BGEN PADILLA said. AFP was also able to seize the terrorists inside a mosque where hostages were kept.
