In preparation for the 31st ASEAN Summit, which will be hosted by the Philippines on November 13-16, 2017, the Presidential Security Group, assigned on the security of all 20 participating country leaders, has scheduled to conduct convoy rehearsals on October 15, 2017.
“The security of all participating country leaders will be one of the greatest defining factors of this event. The dry run of our convoy operations is part of our initiatives to ensure that all heads of states will be safe,” PSG Commander BRIG. GEN. LOPE DAGOY said.
Affected expressway routes will include the following: Southbound lanes ng Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX); North Luzon Expressway (NLEX); South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Skyway. The following will also be affected during the convoy dry run: EDSA, Buendia Extension, J. W. Diokno Boulevard, Roxas Boulevard, and some routes in Makati, Pasay, Taguig, and Manila.
MMDA Special Operations Chief Manny Miro advised motorists to avoid the said routes and take alternative roads on the said date.
