PRRD goes home with ₽300-B from Japan

After his second visit to Japan last 30-31 October 2017, President Duterte and Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe closed 18 deals amounting to nearly 300 billion pesos or six (6) billion dollars for the improvement of infrastructure in Philippines.

This amount is to support three projects which includes the long-awaited Philippine subway that aims to solve the problem with transportation system in the Metro Manila.

According to newly appointed Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “A subway is long delayed. I’m very glad to announce that in this trip, the $6-billion investment was formalized.”

Apart from the establishment of the Metro manila subway, Japan also provided loan for Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Projects which will be a great aid for flood management in the province.

Japan also announced an agreement according to Secretary Roque which allows the conversion of yen to Philippine peso. He added, “That will be a tremendous help to OFWs because they lose money when they convert to dollar first before converting to peso.”

President Duterte’s two-day visit to Japan was indeed a success, not only to him but to all Filipinos as a whole.
