PSG joins Songs for Heroes Concert 3

Various OPM artists along with members of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) gathered together for Songs for Heroes 3 Concert held at Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena last 31 October 2017.

Among the performers was LT LADY CHATTERLY I ALVARO-SUMBELING PN, an officer from the Presidential Security Group (PSG) who sang Halika Sa Kapayapaan, a song she originally wrote for Development Support and Security Plan (DSSP) of AFP. Through its lyrics, she hopes to spread her advocacy for peace in and around the Philippine archipelago.

In an interview after her performance, she said, “I feel proud because I sang an original song for our heroes: our soldiers who fought in Marawi. To my fellow Filipinos, I hope you appreciate our efforts as soldiers. To the families of our fallen heroes, stand proud that your loved ones offered their lives for our country—the most noble deed.”

The concert was a tribute to all Marawi soldiers and policemen who fiercely fought Maute terrorist group to bring back peace in the area considered as the center of Muslim faith in the Philippines. The jam-packed venue was surrounded by pride and deep emotions as early as the performers started.

LT ALVARO-SUMBELING PN added, “Actually I was trying to stop my tears while singing this song . . . I felt teary but I tried not to cry to finish the song.”

The concert, organized by UNTV through the initiative of Mr. Daniel Razon earned two (2) million pesos for the PNP and six (6) million pesos for the AFP; all of which will be given to 37 foundations within mentioned institutions.
