The Presidential Security Group successfully conducted a series of Strategic Communication (StratCom) Seminar/Workshop for the 31st ASEAN Summit.
Under the leadership of BGEN LOPE C DAGOY AFP, PSG has gone from Luzon to Mindanao in order to educate members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as well as partner agencies namely SynchComm ASEAN, Department of Internal–Committee for Security, Peace and Order and Emergency Preparedness and Response (DILG-CSPOEPR), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Philippine News Agency (PNA), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Presidential Protocols, Presidential Management Staff (PMS), Local Government Units from Makati, Pasay, Pampanga, and Davao Region. Likewise, private stakeholders such as NLEX, SCTEX, Skyway, Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Clark Development Corporation (CDC), and reputable hotels such as Fairmont, Sofitel, Okada, and Manila Peninsula attended.
The seminar/workshop is primarily centered on harnessing community support through Strategic Communication to enhance the leadership skills, knowledge, and attitude of the participants in conducting strategic stakeholder engagements in relation to the upcoming ASEAN Summit 2017 barely a week from now.
This is based on the fact that physical security can be enhanced through a thorough and systematic information support operations by using Strategic Communications.
“With the advent of fast-evolving digital technology, this workshop is but relevant in order to achieve the above objectives,” said BGEN LOPE C DAGOY AFP, PSG Commander.
With all those ten (10) scheduled seminar/workshops, PSG through Spokesperson LTC MICHAEL T AQUINO (INF) PA, along with other invited subject matter experts LTC EDGARDO V TALAROC JR (INF) PA from the Department of National Defense (DND) and MAJ GENE R ORENSE (INF) PA from Civil Relations Service AFP (CRSAFP) successfully educated more than 500 participants. The said StratCom Workshop started on 26 July 2017 and ended on 11 October 2017.
It was made possible by PSG with the full support of AFP Civil Military Operations School (AFPCMOS) and Information Development Group (IDG) Civil Relations Service both of which are units under tje Civil Relations Service, AFP (CRSAFP).
