The 2022 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Handgun World Shoot XIX was recently held in Pattaya, Thailand from November 27 to December 03, 2022. The match consisted of thirty (30) stages over five (5) areas. It has one thousand three hundred forty-five (1,345) competitors from seventy-three (73) countries, and was the first World Shoot featuring the popular Production Optics divisions, and was the nineteenth IPSC Handgun World Shoot.
CPT LENARD LOPEZ PA was part of the Philippine shooting contingent who is currently assigned at the Presidential Escort Battalion of the Presidential Security Group. He has already acquired various shooting awards and a known expert in small arms.
He is a member of the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) and part of the Philippine Team delegation that include teammates in Classic Division like Jag Lejano, Alfredo Catalan Jr , Edrick Chan and other shooters in different divisions like Aeron John Lanuza, Arnel Ariate, Dominic John Santos, Edcel John Gino, Erin Mattea Micor, Evelyn Woods, Francis Paulo Paulino, Genesis Pible, Jerome Morales, Marly Martir, Michael Tuazon, Raphael Castillo, Rolly Nathaniel Tecson, and Stefanie Kathrene Lee who all recently competed at the 2022 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Handgun World Shoot XIX in Pattaya, Thailand.
As the competition culminated on December 3, 2022, Team Philippines was declared as the World Champion in Classic Division where Captain Lopez is part of the Team.
 
Likewise, Captain Lopez also bagged the 4th place overall individual in Classic Division from among the 126 shooters who participated from all over the world.
 
This remarkable accomplishment of CPT LENARD LOPEZ PA is expected as the personnel of Presidential Security Group (PSG) are well-trained in marksmanship since their primordial mandate is to protect the President.
CPT LOPEZ also extends his gratefulness to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Army, his teammates, fellow soldiers, fellow shooters, and of course, the PSG Group Commander, COL RAMON P ZAGALA MNSA (INF) PA, for their overwhelming support.
 
COL ZAGALA urged every PSG Trooper to maintain the highest standards of excellence and discipline in marksmanship expected of a VIP protector who ensures the safety of the highest leader of the land.
