PSG Troopers of CGSP join Battle for Rivers and Esteros

Coast Guard Station Pasig (CGSP) joined the massive clean-up along Pasig river as their way to participate in the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.

The Battle for Rivers and Esteros is a continuous clean-up operations for the 5,700 barangays within Metro Manila. A collaboration among government agencies as a team, with a goal to preserve our rivers and esteros in continuing rehabilitation, launches PasigLaban—a massive simultaneous clean-up operations along Recto and Binondo areas of Manila.

Particularly, Estero De Magdalena and the Estero Dela Reyna were cleaned up by over 900 registered participants from Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), PCGA, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Tourism (DOT), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Manila Youth Commission, and delegates of Miss Philippines-Earth 2019.

CGSP is an operationally controlled unit of PSG whose personnel are also PSG troopers protecting the President.

The activity was held along Recto Ave., Manila and successfully collected a total of four (4) trucks of assorted garbage.
