PSG Celebrates 125 years of Protecting the President Beyond Limits

The Presidential Security Group celebrates its 125th Founding Anniversary with the President and Commander-In-Chief, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. who graces the ceremony, together with the presence of DND Secretary Gilberto Eduardo Gerardo C. Teodoro Jr., and Cong. Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos on June 23, 2023, at the PSG Grandstand, Malacaňang Park, Manila.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “PSG@125: Protection Beyond Limits”. It highlights the role of the PSG Troopers as nation builders, peacemakers, and protector of the Filipino people.
The celebration also features the PSG Capability Demonstration which showcases the PSG’s mandate in protecting the President, his immediate family, and the visiting Heads of State and government. It is designed to introduce operational concepts, utilizing new technology, skills, and competencies of PSG’s VIP Protector troopers.
The Founding Anniversary of the PSG is not only a day to celebrate its history and achievements, but also a day to renew its pledge of loyalty and service to the nation.
Here is BGEN ZAGALA’s anniversary message to his Troopers:
The various changes–whether in name, composition, or in uniform–were constant in the history of the Presidential Security Group. From the small unit of men, which was probably not more than a dozen when initially formed, the PSG is now composed of more than 1,000 personnel coming from various departments of the government and the AFP.
From the simple rayadillo uniforms and straw hats, the PSG now has its own distinct sets of uniforms and state of the art protective gears.
But no matter how significant the changes were then until recent years, the PSG’s primary mission never changed–to ensure that democracy is alive and well in the country by protecting the President and his immediate family. A secure and safe President is a President that can perform and serve the people to the best of his abilities.
As we mark our 125th anniversary, let me express my utmost gratitude and appreciation to the men and women of the PSG. Your utmost sacrifice, dedication and selflessness remain the backbone in the fulfillment of our mission. No matter the challenges and the difficulties, you have shown courage, resilience and professionalism that enable us to sustain and raise the bar further in the performance of our mission.
Moreover, may this be a source of inspiration and celebration on why we serve and protect our President and Commander-in-Chief at all times.
Let this be a constant reminder that while others regard protecting the President as a job, we take this mandate as a privilege and an honor given to just a few men and women.

Happy Anniversary PSG and mabuhay po tayong lahat! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
