Commander-in-Chief joins troops vs. terrorists in Marawi

Kampo Ranao, Marawi City – Armed Forces of the Philippines Commander-in-Chief and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte bravely joined the soldiers in their fight against terrorists. After four attempts, President Duterte successfully arrived in Marawi City this afternoon, Thursday, July 20, 2017, to join the Armed Forces troops who are in an ongoing clash with Maute/ASG local terrorist group. Fresh with an encounter yesterday in North Cotabato against another armed rebel group, the New People’s Army, the Presidential Security Group troopers are right on track to protect President Duterte as he entered Ground Zero in Marawi City. Allotting his time in boosting the morale of troops who are selflessly offering their own lives to bring back peace in Mindanao region, the Commander-in-Chief checked on the government troops at the main battle area to see the ongoing situation with his own eyes. The President delivered his message to inspire our troops while exploding bombs, rockets, and gun fires are heard in the background.
