PSG undertakes VIP Protection Course in China

The Presidential Escort (PE) of the PSG is focused on close-in security operations using the military core process: planning, preparation, execution and evaluation. The effectiveness of this unit matters immensely to recipients of their service, training, experience and exposure that make a difference in the level of protection that they provide.

To excel in close-in security operations and strengthen the close-in security personnel, the Command with the assistance of the Office of the President (OP) requested through proper diplomatic channels of the People’s Republic of China to provide the PSG with a VIP Protection Training Course.

With the support provided by the OP, the Command was able to send a pioneering group composed of officers and enlisted personnel in the said training that was conducted in China from November 2 to November 16, 2016.

A two-week training course was specially formulated by the Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces Academy (CPAPFA) for the Filipino contingent under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of the People’s Republic of China.

Located on the artery of Beijing-Tianjin Corridor-Langfang City, Hebei Province in China, the CPAFPA was established in 1981 mainly to provide four-year education and training programs for cadets who will become officers for Border Control, Fire Control, VIP Protection, and UN Peacekeeping. Likewise, several professional institutions were established and are operated under CPAPFA. It is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching and training facilities.

After the training’s opening program on November 2, the lectures started on the following day until November 9. There were six days of lectures with a duration of three hours for each subject matter. Generally, were all about VIP Protection and close-in security operations.
