PSG Steps Up for Better Public Service.

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) conducted workshops and lecture for the Troopers, spearheaded by its Civil Military Operations Office (OG7) that were both held in Davao and Manila.

The first one conducted was the Strategic Communications Workshop last August 6-8, 2018 for the VIP Protection Course students who are currently undergoing training in Davao. They were taught how to be effective communicators in terms of engaging the public and information support. Also included in the 3-day module is the Basics on Civil Military Operations, Negotiation and Strategic Stakeholder’s Engagement that are all essential in the performance of the Troopers’ duties especially during coordination for Presidential engagements here and abroad.

The second one was the Media Handling Lecture for the Office and Residence Security Training Class 41-2018, last August 13, 2023 at Headquarters Presidential Guards, Malacañang, Manila. The lecture was aimed to help teach and improve the skills of the Presidential Guards on public relations, specifically, when engaging the media, as they are the ones tasked to conduct security operations in order to secure Malacañan Palace, Malacañang Palace Complex in Manila, The Mansion in Baguio City, Malacañang sa Sugbo in Cebu City, and “Panacañang” in Davao City.

In support to the overall mission of the Command, the Presidential Guards’ task is not only limited to secure the said facilities, but also, to properly engage all palace visitors especially when there are official engagements that are being held at the said places.

PSG requested the expertise of LIEUTENANT COLONEL MICHAEL T AQUINO who is currently the Chief of the Strategic Communications Branch of the Army Governance and Strategy Management Office, Philippine Army to conduct the said workshop and lecture.
