The Presidential Security Group (PSG) participated in the “1st Peace Forum for IHL”, last August 17, 2018. This is in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross (Quezon City Chapter), and the Rotary Club of Holy Spirit of Rotary International District 3780 whose members were also present in the said event.
The forum was conducted in connection with the commemoration of the “International Humanitarian Law”, celebrated in the country every August 12 in accordance with Executive Order No. 134 signed by former President Joseph Estrada in Manila on July 31, 1999.
Part of the program include lectures about the Law as well as the role and significance of Red Cross during disaster and armed conflict.
The International Humanitarian Law or Law of Armed Conflict is a set of rules which seek to protect those who are not or no longer taking part in the fighting and limit the means and methods of warfare.
