Few days before President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), the Presidential Security Group prepares early for his security.
The group who shall take charge of his safety attended the inter-agency briefing with various coordinating agencies from the Senate, Congress, Office of the Vice President, Office of the President, Philippine National Police, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority for SONA 2017 yesterday, 12 July, at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
PSG troopers will be in-charge of the securing in and around the area on the day President Duterte shall report his accomplishments to the entire Filipino nation. As discussed, security for this years’s SONA will be tighter than last year.
PSSUPT Filmore B Escobal, Presidential Protection Division Chief, mentioned in an interview, “Right now, preparations on security will be much more enhance compared to last year because of the changes in security conditions.” Separately, PSG also met LTGEN ROLAND DETABALI (Ret), head of overall security in the Congress for additional security planning.
