President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will be delivering his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on 22 July 2019. Less than a week prior, an inter-agency coordinating meeting was presided by the House of Representatives headed by the Acting Secretary-General Dante Roberto Maling who is also the Chairperson of Task Force SONA 2019.
It was fully attended by all the involved agencies and steerers of the government as well as the Presidential Security Group led by the Task Force SONA Commander, COLONEL FERDINAND B NAPULI PA.
In an interview, COL NAPULI, the TF SONA Commander said, “The Presidential Security Group considers all forms of threats and we are all ready to implement our highest security protocols to secure President Duterte and ensure the success of his 4th SONA. We are also prepared with our contingency plans in case the situation calls.”
Prior this, a series of security and inter-agency meetings have already been conducted which assures the public that Batasang Pambansa is ready for the President’s SONA. Hence, with all the said preparations, the Presidential Security Group is all geared up to perform its mandate and secure the President. All concerned security agencies have been working together in coordination with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and other intelligence forces to make sure that no threat would pass through.
The venue and area of operations have already been inspected by TF SONA 2019 and the Presidential Security Group, being tasked to secure the safety of the President and the first family is ready to implement its security procedures.
