Knowing The New Commander

On July 2, 2016, BGEN ROLANDO JOSELITO DELIZO BAUTISTA AFP assumed office as the 14th Commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) since its establishment in March 1986. He now becomes the 31st Commander among the lineage of noble Officers to lead the unit tasked to secure the highest leader of our land since 1897 prior its establishment as the PSG.

BGEN BAUTISTA is now at the helm of the PSG in performing its mandate in securing the President and the set of government - a government led by the people’s President, voted by more than 16 million Filipinos, PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE.

As a leader who believes in empowerment in empowerment as blueprint pf well-performing organizations, the new PSG Commander is a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sandiwa” Class of 1985. He was born on October 15, 2023 and takes his roots from Naguillian, La Union. He is married to former Ms. Shirley Ann Palma and is blessed with three sons and a daughter, namely: Ralph Simon, John Michael, Gabriel Matthew, and Marie Therese Anne.

His previously held assignments speak well of his virtuous leadership, excellent performance and conscientious dealings. He had assignments around the Philippines taking numerous positions and performing them well. Among the notable units he served are as Commander, 104 BDE, 1ID PA, Commander, JTFGENSAN, 10ID PA, and as Chief of Unified Command Staff in NOLCOM, AFP.

He also held positions in Admin, Operations and Training and Development. He is an Infantry Officer, a Scout Ranger, a paratrooper and a trainer among others.

A recipient of a long list of rightfully earned awards and commendations, he truly sets the bar high for all PSG Troopers to emulate.

His current task is not to be taken lightly, however, BGEN BAUTISTA has all the necessary skills, trainings, experiences and leadership skills to keep the PSG in performing at its best. Qualities which earn him the full trust and confidence of no less than the President, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He is known to many an impartial leader, a man of few words but more of actions, and a loving head of the family. BGEN BAUTISTA emboldens the PSG guiding principles of Loyalty, Integrity and Honesty.

During the Assumption Ceremony as the Commander Presidential Security Group on July 1, 2016, BGEN BAUTISTA delivered his speech which serves as a guide for all PSG Troopers on the duration of his stint as Commander.
