In line with the one mandated function of the Philippine Coast Guard to ensure cleaner seas, in September 17, 2016, the Coast Guard Station Substation Pureza conducted a River Clean-Up along the stretch of the Pasig River from Polytechnic University of the Philippines Ferry Station up to Lambingan Bridge headed by LCDR CRISANTO A ANAS PCG, Station Commander, Coast Guard Station Pasig.
Various Government Agencies, Civic Action Groups, and other volunteers from the community also participated in the said River Clean-Up.
Through the initiative and proper coordination of the Coast Guard Station Pasig personnel together with the involvement and support of all those who participated in the River Clean-Up, the said activity turned out to be a success.
To ensure the safety of the President of the Republic of the Philippines and members of the First Family, the Coast Guard Station Pasig conducts inspections and escorts 24/7 all the vessels passing through the Malacañang Restricted Area (MRA).
Special Operation Unit Malacañang personnel onboard Coast Guard Aluminum boats conduct a day and night maritime patrols along Coast Guard Station Pasig areas of responsibility to secure Pasig River as well as to prevent and repel any waterborne infiltration against Malacañang Complex.
In September 2016, Coast Guard Station Pasig received numerous reported drowning incidents and successfully retrieved a floating cadaver along the vicinity of Laguna De Bay near Lighthouse Station of Tipas, Taguig City and Federation Wharf in Binondo, Manila. The courage and hard work of Coast Guard personnel is noteworthy and indeed something to be proud of.
Coast Guard Station Pasig, headed by LCDR CRISANTO A ANAS PCG, supported by the Department of Education (DepEd) as well as the Tomas Earnshaw Elementary School in launching the Brigada Eskwela Program on May 30-31, 2016. The Brigada Eskwela Program is a version of modern bayanihan wherein all sectors join hand-in-hand to ensure that the schools are clean, safe, disaster-prepared, and conducive for learning before the opening of classes.
