CAAP issues a “no-fly zone” notice for SONA 2019

As requested by the Presidential Security Group (PSG) to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the latter has declared the vicinity of the House of Representatives a “no-fly zone” as tight security is implemented for the safety of the President and the entire populace who will be at the area for the 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

It was stated on CAAP’s Notice to Airmen that it bans all airmen from flying up to ten (10) kilometers near Plaridel, Bulacan, where aviation schools are located. It will strictly be imposed on July 22, 2023 between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..

CAAP further added the suspension of training flights of aviation schools from July 22 at 12 midnight to July 23 at midnight.

CAAP also has restricted the flight of drones and any other unmanned aerial vehicles (AUVs) to 8,000 feet above the ground within ten (10) kilometers from Batasang Pambansa Complex, on 20 July at 10:47 a.m. until July 21 at 11:00 a.m..

Any unpermitted activity related to this notice will be considered as a threat and shall be properly dealt with by the respective security forces on the ground with our PSG troopers.
