In support to the all-out drive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte against illegal drugs, the Presidential Security Group (PSG) conducted a random drug test among its personnel as a way of identifying and taking proper procedures against those engaged in using them.
The activity also aims to warn personnel of the circumstances should they abuse themselves with prohibited drugs.
After the flag-raising ceremony on 07 October 2019, a random drug test was conducted in Malacañang Park, Manila, wherein 451 PSG troopers or roughly more than 22% of the total strength of the Command underwent the procedure.
No one was tested positive on prohibited drugs.
Through the commitment of BGEN JOSE ERIEL M NIEMBRA AFP, Commander, PSG, to fully support PRRD’s campaign against illegal drugs, the activity was initiated by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence.
This was also backed by the Intelligence Service, Armed Forces of Philippines (ISAFP) which facilitated the drug test in accordance with Task Force Moses’ guidelines.
