PSG celebrates World Bread Day

Happy World Bread Day!

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) was joined by Pilmico Food Corporation and Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. as sponsors to celebrate the World Bread Day.

More or less 4,000 pieces of bread were produced by The Bread Camp, a bakery situated inside the PSG compound managed by the PSG EP Ladies’ Club who are the bakers themselves. In order to make the celebration more meaningful, pieces of bread were distributed to nearby schools and communities such as Beata Elementary School; Brgy 636, North Nagtahan, Manila; Brgy 645, San Miguel, Manila; Brgy 647, San Miguel, Manila; as well as passers-by along the stretch of College of the Holy Spirit. They were also distributed to the offices under the Office of the President as a way to market the Bread Camp to the Malacañang personnel.

This is the first time for The Bread Camp to join such celebration with the help of Pilmico Food Corporation and Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. The PSG troopers are also in full support to the EP Ladies’ Club, which takes full responsibility for The Bread Camp which is donated by Aboitiz Equity Ventures.

The World Bread Day is celebrated every 16th of October to commemorate the founding anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) which was primarily established to end hunger all around the globe.

Following the success of the celebration, bread sharing will now become a yearly activity of PSG, Aboitiz, and Pilmico.
